Privacy Policy
GENESIS is a free browser game. It has no accounts, no sign-up, and never asks for your name, email address, or any other real-world identity. This page explains the small amount of data the game handles and the choices you have.
Data stored on your device
Your save—game progress, settings, and a randomly generated 16-character player ID—is stored locally in your browser (or, if you install the game as an app, in the app's storage). It never needs to leave your device to play. You can export it as a backup code, delete it by clearing your browser's site data, or wipe it from the game's System menu at any time.
Leaderboard
Submitting a score is optional. If you choose to submit, the game sends your random player ID, the display name you typed (maximum 16 characters; please keep it civil—offensive names are replaced automatically), and gameplay statistics (Power, tier reached, worlds seeded, galaxies, play time, and milestone times) to our leaderboard server.
These appear publicly on the in-game leaderboard. No personal information is required or collected. Records are stored in a hosted database. To have your entry removed, email us your player ID (shown in the System tab) at the address below.
Gameplay telemetry
To understand how the game is played and to find bugs, the game periodically sends anonymous gameplay statistics—things like seeds per run, ads watched, comets caught, and error logs—tagged only with the same random player ID. This data contains no personal information and is used solely to improve the game.
Advertising
GENESIS may show optional rewarded ads and occasional interstitials served by Google AdSense. In connection with this:
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. You can also read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Where required by law (for example, in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, and ads will respect the choice you make.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data associated with you. Because the only identifier we hold is your random player ID, include it in any request. We do not sell personal information.
Children
GENESIS is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game collects no real-world identity information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be noted in the game's changelog.
